Job Description

This position will support digital pedagogy initiatives, library

research, and instruction services during planned sabbaticals and

parental leaves during the 2025-2026 academic year. This shared

position will report to the Dean of Libraries (primary) and the

Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.

Major Responsibilities

Fall 2025 (Split Position)

Center for Teach for Learning ( CTL ) Responsibilities (20

hours/week)

Faculty Innovation in Teaching ( FIITT ) Camp support

(three-day faculty summer “camp” in August that provides faculty

with the time, training, and support to develop new innovative

modules involving technology for their courses)

Teach digital skills and methodologies in classrooms and to

research groups (minimum 20 sessions), including Zotero,

audio/video editing software, website creation, and copyright

education

Provide consultation and support for faculty, staff, and

students (minimum 30 sessions)

Collaborate with CTL director on faculty development

initiatives and communications

Support VR classroom initiatives and hardware/software

management

Assist with campus digital initiatives, grants, and

projects

Library Responsibilities (20 hours/week)

Teach library orientation sessions in First-Year Seminar

courses (minimum 10-12 sessions)

Teach library information literacy sessions in ENGL 113 courses

(minimum 10-12 sessions across 5-6 sections)

Teach information literacy sessions for additional courses

depending on library needs and faculty requests (minimum 4-5

sessions)

Provide Research Help coverage, including responding to

Ask-A-Librarian queries (10 hours/week, with some scheduled

evening/weekend remote coverage)

Provide one-on-one research consultations as schedule

permits

Spring 2026 (Full-time CTL Position)

Lead expanded digital skills instruction (40 sessions) on tools

including Zotero, multimedia editing software, digital timelines,

and website creation

Offer increased consultation support for faculty, staff, and

students (50-60 sessions)

Collaborate with CTL director on faculty development

initiatives, communications, and marketing

Support campus digital initiatives, grants, and projects
Assist with VR classroom initiatives and hardware/software

management

Support faculty with accessibility tools, inclusive teaching

strategies, and Generative AI pedagogy

Qualifications

Required

Master’s degree or PhD in Library Science, Educational

Technology, Digital Humanities, or related field (degrees in

progress will also be considered)

Demonstrated ability to teach digital literacy skills and tools

in an academic setting

Demonstrated knowledge of academic library research and

information literacy concepts

Proficiency with digital tools, including Zotero, multimedia

editing software (GarageBand, Audacity, iMovie), online databases,

and digital scholarship platforms

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively

with faculty, staff, and students

Excellent organizational and time management skills with the

ability to balance competing priorities

Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and supporting

diverse learning needs

Preferred

Experience working in academic libraries or teaching/learning

centers

Experience with virtual reality technologies in educational

settings

Familiarity with accessibility tools and inclusive design

principles
