Voilà is a new team dedicated to launching and scaling Sobeys new e-commerce grocery home delivery business. This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up within a larger organization. You will help launch and operate a new brand in the Alberta, Ontario and Quebec markets powered by Ocado Group’s world-leading e-commerce grocery platform.   • *Overview**:

Lead the fleet maintenance function for the Voilà Delivery fleet (last mile transportation) for the Edmonton (AB) region

  • Work in conjunction with Delivery and Planning departments to ensure the fleet readiness can support volume forecasts and daily deliveries.
  • Lead the fleet shunter team to support 24 hour / 7 days operations (direct and indirect reports to)
  • Oversee the daily maintenance work for the fleet vehicles. Establish guidelines for daily maintenance activities that must be performed in-house versus those that must be performed by a subcontractor
  • Ensure that the fleet is operated in accordance with the National Safety Code and all other applicable provincial/company requirements; support the Delivery department to ensure that all drivers understand vehicle regulations.
  • Lead the Maintenance Team
  • Manage all local service and parts suppliers
  • Verify/approve supplier invoices.
  • Keep all files and records related to equipment, maintenance, repairs, projects, mileage and leases up to date
  • Foster employee engagement, development, and retention by ensuring they understand Voilà's vision, encouraging innovation, communicating clearly and providing feedback on a regular basis.
  • Prepare training and evaluations, do follow-ups and ensure quality and compliance.
  • Review daily customer satisfaction scorecard to evaluate/determine if corrective actions are required.
  • Use key performance indicators to measure equipment/team performance and identify quality improvement opportunities.
  • Support the procurement function in selecting new suppliers, negotiating contracts and establishing service level agreements with third party vendors.
  • Manage insurance claims involving fleet equipment. Monitor trends to identify potential issues
  • *Job Requirements**:
  • Valid Driver’s licence and clean abstract
  • 5 to 10 years experience in fleet management
  • 3 to 5 years experience in an operational role
  • Commercial transportation industry experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage third party operators and customer relationships
  • Post-secondary studies in business or technical field
  • Good understanding of automotive mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of laws and standards applicable to commercial vehicles
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written; ability to interact with all levels of the company and external parties)
