  • *POSITION OVERVIEW**

Are you a resourceful, creative, and technically-savvy communications professional with a solutions-driven mindset? We've got an exciting opportunity to join the Corporate Communications & Public Engagement team. With a talent for digital systems, marketing, communications, design, messaging, and issues management, you will be a key part of our team to deliver consistent, engaging, and compelling communications and experiences to local and regional audiences.

In this specialized digital communications role, you will:

  • Work closely with City departments - providing strategic advice, identifying synergies, communications planning, and creative deliverables that advance key projects and priorities.
  • Support and contribute to digital platforms, including the City’s website and Intranet, digital signage asset management systems, digital marketing campaign rollout and optimization, Engage Maple Ridge page and survey setup, and more
  • Collaborate across departments to deliver clear, accessible, and compelling content that reflects the City’s bold brand and commitment to innovation, transparency, and service excellence.

  • *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**

Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, materials and software used in the work.

Considerable knowledge of the regulations, rules and policies governing the work.

Sound knowledge of the communications objectives and practices of the organization in relation to content for the website and related media.

Sound knowledge of the functions of departments served and their requirements in relation to the work performed.

Ability to develop, produce and edit a variety of written and graphic content for the website, and to monitor website content for adherence to standards.

Ability to identify problems and shortcomings of the website, and to recommend solutions, improvements and standards.

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and to provide guidance and advice to on matters related to the work.

  • *DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**

Diploma in communications, graphic design, web design or a related discipline plus considerable related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • *ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**

This is a Temporary Full-Time opportunity for 18 months, which may be extended or curtailed by circumstances which could not be foreseen at the time of hiring.
