As we continue to grow (we’re aiming to double our member numbers in 2026), we’re looking for a highly organized, energetic, outgoing, and creative Marketing & Event Coordinator to support our event operations, marketing initiatives, and member experience. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, can work well independently, loves turning ideas into polished execution, and wants to help shape a rapidly scaling community brand.
You’ll work closely with both the Director of Events & Community and the CEO, supporting the planning, execution, and promotion of Counselwell’s events and community initiatives.

About the Role
The Marketing & Event Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring our events run smoothly, our marketing efforts stay sharp and consistent, and our members enjoy a seamless, high-value experience. This is a hands-on coordination role ideal for someone early in their career who wants expansive learning opportunities, variety, and ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Event Coordination
- Support the planning, logistics, and execution of in-person and virtual events across Canada and the US, including dinners, socials, conferences, retreats, workshops, and webinars.
- Assist with managing event timelines, guest lists, registrations, communications, and on-the-ground logistics.
- Assist with coordination of venues, vendors, speakers, and partners.
- Assist with event flows, event descriptions, run-of-show documents, speaker briefs, and internal checklists for both virtual and in-person events.
- Prepare and update all event-related content on the website, including event pages, speaker information, registration details, and post-event uploads.
- Build and schedule automated email sequences (e.g., confirmations, reminders, updates, follow-ups, surveys, recordings) for each event.
- Attend select events to ensure seamless execution and a high-quality experience for members.
Marketing & Communications
- Draft and schedule engaging marketing content across social media channels, newsletters, event promotions, and community updates.
- Assist with branding and design needs for events and marketing materials (experience with Canva is critical).
- Help maintain consistent messaging, voice, and brand presence across all platforms.
- Support growth initiatives, including outreach campaigns, partnership promotions, and membership acquisition activities.
Community & Member Support
- Support the onboarding and engagement of new members.
- Serve as a helpful and responsive point of contact for member inquiries.
- Help ensure members feel welcomed, supported, and connected to the community.
Operations, Systems & CRM Management
- Update and maintain CRM records, membership data, event attendance tracking, and partner/sponsor information.
- Ensure all member activity and event-related interactions are properly logged and organized.
- Optimize workflows, templates, and processes across marketing, events, and community management.
- Document processes to avoid duplication and wasted time
- Prepare reports, timelines, checklists, summaries, and documentation to keep projects on track.
Requirements
- 1 - 3 years of relevant work experience in event coordination, marketing, communications, or community support.
- Strong interest in supporting and growing a community of in-house legal professionals.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Experience using CRM systems or comfort learning new tools.
- Strong writing and communication abilities.
- Experience using Canva or similar design tools.
- Experience with email marketing platforms, automation tools, or website CMS platforms.
- Ability and willingness to travel for events across Canada and the US.
- Comfort interacting with members, partners, and prospective sponsors.
- High energy, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn and grow.
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Nice to Haves
- Experience in the legal industry or with a community-driven business.
- Experience with social media marketing, community management, or branding.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: CAD $50,000 - $62,000, with a performance-based bonus tied to both individual and company results.
- 3 weeks vacation.
- Flexible scheduling to support personal and family needs.
- Remote work environment (travel required for events across Canada and the US).
