The Hidden Village

Share this job:

We’re a family-run business creating magical, imaginative experiences for children and families, and we’re looking for a creative, organised Content, Marketing & Design Assistant to support the delivery of marketing activity across our venues: The Hidden Village (Leeds & Keighley) and The Hidden Castle (Skipton).

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role suited to someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a marketing or content role, who enjoys creating content, designing visual assets, and working with data at a practical level — without the pressure of owning overall strategy or performance outcomes.

You’ll be working closely with the Head of Marketing & Growth, with clear priorities, direction, and campaign focus provided, in a supportive, collaborative environment where your work genuinely makes a difference to families visiting our venues.

Why work with us?

  • We’re a small, friendly, family-run business where everyone is known, valued, and supported
  • Our venues are built around creativity, imagination, and family time — your work helps create real memories for children
  • You’ll see your work go live quickly and have a visible impact
  • We value reliability, kindness, and practical problem-solving, not corporate politics
  • There is a clear opportunity to grow with the business for the right person

The role

Content & social media

  • Create short-form video content (reels) from existing or newly captured footage
  • Design social media graphics, carousels, and posts using Canva
  • Write clear, engaging captions aligned with campaign messaging
  • Schedule and publish content across Instagram and Facebook
  • Maintain consistency across venues and platforms

Design & visual assets

  • Design posters, flyers, and in-venue marketing materials
  • Create digital assets for promotions, events, and campaigns
  • Support basic website design updates (layouts, imagery, content blocks)

SEO, analytics & reporting (support level)

  • Apply basic SEO best practices to website content (page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links)
  • Review organic Meta insights and Google Analytics data
  • Produce simple performance summaries and reports
  • Flag trends, patterns, or issues to the Head of Marketing & Growth

(This role does not require advanced SEO, paid ads, or strategy ownership.)

Email & marketing support

  • Create and send weekly newsletters
  • Update templates and content for offers and campaigns
  • Ensure marketing activity is delivered on time and to plan

Community engagement & local marketing

  • Support local community engagement activity, including outreach to nurseries, schools, toddler groups, and family-focused organisations
  • Assist with identifying and contacting potential local partners, following agreed messaging and priorities
  • Help coordinate and distribute local marketing materials such as flyers and posters
  • Support community events, open days, and local promotions where required
  • Feed back responses, contacts, and opportunities to the Head of Marketing & Growth

Events & seasonal activity (occassional support)

  • Support the preparation and delivery of seasonal events and themed activity across our venues (e.g. Christmas, school holidays)
  • Assist with venue dressing, signage, and visual setup in line with agreed themes
  • Help prepare and coordinate marketing materials linked to events
  • Capture content during events and themed sessions
  • Support on-the-day setup or preparation where required

  • Responsible for growth targets or revenue
  • A management or leadership role

Hours & working pattern

This is a 30-hour per week role. We’re open to either of the following working patterns:

  • £26,000 – £28,000 per year (full-time equivalent)
  • Pro rata based on 30 hours per week (Approximately £20,800 – £22,400 per year, depending on experience.)

We see this as a long-term role for the right person.

As the business continues to grow, there is genuine opportunity for:

  • Increased responsibility
  • Broader involvement across venues
  • Progression in role and salary over time

Growth is based on consistent delivery, reliability, and trust, rather than titles or time served.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Confident using tools such as Canva & Capcut
  • Comfortable creating short-form video content
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices
  • Familiarity with Meta and Google Analytics at a reporting level

If you’re creative, practical, and excited by the idea of contributing to a family-focused business where your work really matters, we’d love to hear from you.

To apply: Please send your CV along with a cover letter explaining why you’d love to work with us, and (if available) examples of relevant work or a short portfolio.
