Amazon Ads Business Development is seeking an experienced Principal to join our Strategy and BD Team. You will play a crucial role in leading strategic initiatives and partnerships that advance our AI-driven advertising products and shopping experiences, shaping the future of how customers discover and engage with products and brands on Amazon.com and beyond. This role will work closely with Amazon leadership, Ads senior management, cross business-unit BD teams, and other corporate functions to drive unique partnership opportunities. You will be part of a team that is responsible for developing and executing some of Amazon’s most complex and high impact partnerships in close collaboration with product and sales leaders in the advertising organization. This includes managing relationships and negotiations for partnerships with long-term strategic implications for Amazon. Key job responsibilities

  • Define, negotiate, and launch innovative, high-impact partnerships for Amazon’s advertising technologies and AI-first sponsored experiences.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to define new partner opportunities and influence product priorities.
  • Influence senior commercial, technical, and product stakeholders to drive alignment around new ideas and initiatives, debate tradeoffs, and make high-judgment decisions related to critical partnerships and cross-product initiatives
  • Own executive relationships with strategically important partner companies in the sector; institute regular mechanisms to cultivate trust and drive alignment with Amazon's priorities
  • Conduct market research and identify new partnership opportunities across emerging AI-first first companies and experiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and GTM teams to execute partner-led strategies and deliver measurable results.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of professional or military experience
  • 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience structuring and negotiating complex agreements and leading cross-functional groups to orchestrate and successfully complete deals

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA
  • Experience in AI products and technologies such as AI models and applications
  • Startup background or experience at a VC/PE-backed firm

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $193,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $288,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
