Amazon Marketplace Manager – Catalog Cleanup, Fulfillment Optimization, Fee Control, Ads Management - Contract to Hire

We are a growing consumer goods company operating on Amazon. We are looking for an Amazon Marketplace Manager focused on execution and operational discipline.

This role is hands-on and operational. The main objective is to clean up and optimize our Amazon catalog, control costs and fees, manage fulfillment strategy (FBA vs FBM), improve listing quality, and work under clear directives and reporting requirements.

You will work directly with the Operations Manager. This is not a strategy-only role and not a “set it and forget it” position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit and clean up the Amazon catalog
  • Optimize SKU count per ASIN to improve catalog structure and operational efficiency
  • Fix incorrect variation and parent-child relationships
  • Improve listing quality (titles, bullet points, descriptions, images, compliance)
  • Track product expiration dates and maintain visibility of expiring inventory
  • Coordinate with the person responsible for shipping products to Amazon
  • Support decisions on which products should be fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) and which by Merchant (FBM)
  • Balance Prime eligibility with Amazon fee control
  • Monitor Amazon fees and explain fee increases using data
  • Manage existing Amazon ads within an approved, capped budget, prioritizing cost control over growth experimentation
  • Execute directives provided by the Operations Manager and company leadership
  • Submit daily activity reports using a company-provided form

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing Amazon Seller Central
  • Strong understanding of ASINs, SKUs, and variation structures
  • Experience with both FBA and FBM fulfillment
  • Comfortable working with fees, margins, and operational data
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Comfortable working under structured rules and reporting requirements

Compensation

  • Compensation is reviewed quarterly based on sales and profitability performance

  • This role includes an expedited 7 business day execution plan at the start
  • Daily reporting is mandatory
  • Advertising spend is controlled and capped
  • This is an execution role, not an independent strategy role

Time Commitment Expectations

This is not a full-time (8 hours/day) role.

  • This role is outcome-based, not hourly-based. Efficiency and execution quality are valued over time spent.
  • During the initial catalog cleanup and optimization phase, additional hours may be required temporarily
  • Once catalog structure and SKUs are stabilized, the workload becomes lighter and more maintenance-focused
