Digital Marketing Assistant

Job Summary

The Content & Digital Marketing Coordinator supports the execution of social media, content, and digital marketing initiatives across multiple platforms. This role focuses on creating and publishing content, engaging with our online community, and supporting paid and organic marketing efforts. A foundational understanding of and interest in plants is important, as the role works closely with product inventory and plant-focused storytelling.

Responsibilities

Digital Marketing Support

Implement SEO updates including metadata, alt text, and product description improvements.
Assist with site audits by identifying issues related to backlinks, header structure, and keyword overlap.
Compile customer lists for quarterly customer research interviews.
Conduct routine trend checks and surface insights to inform content and campaign planning.

Content Creation & Publishing

Execute the content calendar by filming, editing, and producing videos, photos, and thumbnails for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest.
Write clear, engaging captions and optimize hashtags and keywords to support discoverability.
Publish content at assigned times using Metricool, with guidance from the manager.
Monitor new inventory and identify timely content opportunities tied to availability, seasonality, and trends.

Community Management

Manage day-to-day interactions by responding to comments and direct messages across social platforms.
Address common customer questions and flag recurring themes, emerging issues, or trends to the manager.
Maintain a helpful, informed, and on-brand voice in all community interactions.

Advertising Support

Prepare and refine creative assets for paid social and digital advertising campaigns.
Support creative testing by organizing assets and aligning content with campaign goals.
Pull performance reports (CPM, CTR, ROAS) and compile summaries for review.

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in content creation, social media, marketing, or a related field (internships and coursework welcome).
Demonstrated interest in plants or gardening, with the ability to learn and communicate product information accurately.
Experience creating content for social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, or Pinterest.
Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools (ei: Metricool, Later, Buffer, Blaze, etc) is a plus.
Basic understanding of digital marketing concepts, performance metrics, and SEO fundamentals.
Strong written and visual communication skills.

In-Store Marketing Support

Assist with creating and updating physical plant signage for the in-person store.
Ensure signage is clear, accurate, and visually aligned with brand standards.
Coordinate with inventory and retail teams to reflect current availability and promotions.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 – 40.0 per week
