About Carpe

Carpe is the fastest-growing deodorant brand in the US. Our team is composed of ~25 insanely smart people working together in-person in downtown Durham, NC. We work together in a dynamic, collaborative office environment that blends openness with plenty of private spaces and high, creative energy.

Carpe’s growth marketing is a core competitive advantage. We’ve built a system where creative, experimentation, and performance work together - resulting in ads and landing pages that consistently outperform the market and influence how other CPG brands approach growth.

In hiring, we look for people who want to become the best in their craft - not overnight, but through relentless learning, improvement, and holding themselves to the highest possible standard over time.

We’re looking for a Growth Marketing Specialist to work directly with our Head of Growth Marketing, taking ideas and priorities and turning them into shipped work - while building judgment and ownership over time.

THIS IS THE ONLY ONE WAY TO APPLY

  • Write a non-GPT paragraph about why you’re interested in this role and why you think you’d be a good fit.
  • Email the co-founder, [email protected], with the paragraph referenced above in the body of the email with your resume attached as a PDF.

ONLY applications submitted per the above directions will be reviewed.

The Role

This role is designed to increase the bandwidth of our Head of Growth Marketing by owning execution and coordination across a wide range of marketing initiatives.

You’ll receive clear direction and priorities, and you’ll be expected to execute quickly and reliably - while also applying judgment, making day-to-day decisions, and flagging tradeoffs or recommendations as needed.

This is a great role for someone who is growth-oriented, organized, and hungry to learn, and who wants meaningful responsibility.

What You’ll Do

Execution & Follow-Through

  • Execute growth initiatives across paid media (digital and traditional), creative, PR, influencers, new customer acquisition funnels, etc.
  • Support campaign execution and testing across platforms like Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, and other emerging channels.
  • Translate direction into clear next steps, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate across internal teams and external partners to keep work moving forward.
  • Handle many of the operational details that turn ideas into shipped work.

Judgment & Decision-Making

  • Make routine decisions independently within defined goals and guidance.
  • Surface risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations when clarity is needed.
  • Bring structure and opinions—not just updates—to conversations.
  • Know when to move fast vs. when to pause and ask for input.

Measurement & Learning

  • Help track performance across campaigns and initiatives (e.g., CAC, creative performance, funnel conversion).
  • Support reporting and dashboards used by the growth team to evaluate what’s working.
  • Translate performance insights into clear next steps or briefs for creative and channel execution.
  • Contribute to testing learnings and documentation so progress compounds over time.

Cross-Functional Support

  • Work closely with Creative, Performance, Retention, Product, Finance and Operations.
  • Support launches, tests, and optimization efforts across marketing channels.
  • Help ensure growth initiatives stay aligned as priorities evolve.

What Success Looks Like

  • Growth initiatives move faster and more smoothly.
  • The Head of Growth Marketing has more time to focus on strategy, insights, and new ideas.
  • Execution is organized, dependable, and scalable.
  • You take on increasing ownership as you grow in the role.

Who You Are

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–4 years of experience in growth marketing, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in growth, experimentation, and performance-driven marketing.
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through.
  • Comfortable taking direction and executing, while also thinking independently.
  • Curious, analytical, and eager to learn and improve.
  • Clear communicator in a fast-moving environment.

Nice-to-Haves (Not Required)

  • Experience in ecommerce, DTC, or consumer brands.
  • Familiarity with paid media, creative testing, CRO, or lifecycle marketing.
  • Agency, startup, or early-career rotational experience.

Why This Role

  • Direct exposure to and mentorship from a senior growth leader.
  • Real responsibility and hands-on experience across the growth stack.
  • Opportunity to grow scope and impact as the company scales.
  • Work on a product-led brand with strong momentum and traction.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Company computer of your choosing.
  • 401k.
  • Health insurance (Carpe covers a portion of costs), with options also provided for vision and dental.
  • Employer-paid life insurance.
  • Free product, snack and drink bar, etc.
  • The chance to create the next consumer sensation, working alongside a team of brilliant, determined, and loving people.
