Position #1: Communications Director

Description
We are looking for a Communications Director to join our growing team at Seeds for Eco Communities! As an Ontario based not for profit organization, we are actively sharing information, tools and resources around the globe on sustainable living with an eco community lens.
In this leadership role at Seeds for Eco Communities you will be responsible for overseeing, managing and growing out the organizations social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. Other tasks involved in this position will include strategic planning on resource releases and seeking to identify opportunities to increase brand awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and guide strategic planning on resources developed and released
- Oversee, assess and seek opportunities for growth of organizational platforms based on different marketing approaches and trends
- Proofread and quality control of resources, ensuring appropriate content, copyright, logo and credits are included
- From time to time create promotional materials and resources to share on the organizations platforms
- Coordinate marketing campaigns and seek other innovative approaches to support growth of the organization
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience in social media management including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and/or YouTube
- Experience working in / growing not for profit organizations / small businesses
- Previous experience in marketing / communications / other related fields
- Experience in Canva
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills, ability to pay attention to detail
- Attentive to deadlines and open to ideas from other team members
Hours: 2-4 hours a week and as available
Compensation
This is a volunteer position with no financial compensation. Team members will be provided access to programs and organizational training to support delivery of their tasks and will be recognized at the annual meeting for contributions provided through an appreciation gift. With grass roots not for profit organizations the real compensation is in the satisfaction of doing your part for mother earth by supporting a growing trend of sustainable living in an eco community context.

In this role at Seeds for Eco Communities you will be responsible for supporting the branding and growth of the organizations social media accounts including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. Other tasks involved in this position will include strategic alignment of content with current trending issues and engaging with followers on the various platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring forward innovative ideas and support opportunities for growth of organizational platforms based on different marketing approaches and trends
- Engage with followers on the organizations social media platforms to support further reach of posts and to create growth of the various platforms
- From time to time create promotional materials and resources to share on the organizations platforms
- Support marketing campaigns and seek other creative approaches to support growth of the organization
Recommended Qualifications
- Experience in social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and/or YouTube
- Experience working in / growing not for profit organizations / small businesses
- Experience in mapping and alignment with current trends
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills, ability to pay attention to detail
- Attentive to deadlines and open to ideas from other team members
Hours: 30-45 minutes a day / 3-5 hours a week and as available
